Job Summary
RN Clinical Charge Nurse directs and oversees daily unit activities on an assigned shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Leads and assigns staff, participates in physician rounding, manages bed flow and patient throughput, supports staffing during surges, and champions evidence-based practice and shared governance. Responsibilities include rounds on patients, coordinating care across disciplines, mentoring staff, ensuring adherence to standards and policies, and collaborating with care managers and leadership to optimize department performance. Requires nursing licensure (Georgia) with relevant certifications, leadership experience, and ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient-centered care. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication with physicians and nursing leadership, and maintaining quality and safety in the Emergency Department setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- National certification in area of specialty Upon Hire
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years Experience as relief charge with clinical expertise
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Works well with others in a collaborative, team-focused, patient centered way
- Communicates effectively both orally and in written form with all levels of internal and external resources
- Analytical skills necessary to solve technical, clinical and managerial challenges
- Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence and credibility to lead others
