Job Summary
RN Clinical Charge Nurse directs and oversees daily unit activities on an assigned shift to ensure safe delivery of care. The role acts as a caregiver with modified patient-care assignments, operating within a nursing practice framework and governance model. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, unit patient flow, clinical expertise for concerns, physician rounding, committee involvement, survey readiness, and leadership in others’ development. The position requires active RN licensure in Georgia, a current BLS card on day one, and prior nursing experience. Competencies include teamwork, communication, analytical thinking, and decision-making to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate, culturally aware patient care. Night shift at WellStar facility in Kennesaw, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as an Associate Degree/Diploma Nurse
- Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia
- Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position
- National certification in area of specialty preferred (dependent on area of Service may require additional certification such as ACLS, PALS)
- Preferred Minimum Experience: One year of nursing experience required, two years preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English; effective communication with all levels of internal and external resources
- Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to lead others
