Job Summary
Charge Nurse (RN) leading the unit during the night shift in acute care. Directs and oversees daily activities to ensure safe delivery of care, may take modified patient-care assignments, leads staff scheduling, unit patient flow, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Builds rapport with nurses and physicians, mentors team members, and upholds nursing practice standards and ethics within the WellStar framework.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as an Associate Degree/Diploma Nurse
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia
- Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position
- National certification in area of specialty preferred
- One year of nursing experience required, two years preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to lead others
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- BLS certification required
- ACLS/PALS certification preferred
- National certification in area of specialty preferred
