Job Summary
The RN Clinical Charge Nurse directs and oversees the daily activities of the unit during the night shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. This leadership role may include caregiver responsibilities, staff scheduling, unit patient flow, clinical concerns, physician rounding, committee involvement, survey readiness, and acting as a role model to foster teamwork and professional development while upholding nursing standards and the organization’s practice model.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as an Associate Degree/Diploma Nurse.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
- Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position.
- National certification in area of specialty preferred. (Dependent on area of Service may require additional certification such as ACLS, PALS).
- One year of nursing experience required, two years preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English language.
- Experience as relief charge with clinical expertise preferred.
- Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence and credibility to lead others.
