Job Summary
Charge Nurse oversees medical, psychiatric, substance abuse and nursing care for individuals served, supervises unit nursing staff on designated shift, administers medications, ensures compliance with licensing and accreditation standards, maintains supplies and documentation, and coordinates with outside medical and nursing support services. Essential duties include patient assessments, care planning, supervision of staff, clinical monitoring, emergency response, and ensuring proper documentation and policy adherence; requires RN licensure with BSN preferred and at least 1 year in behavioral health.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
- Valid and current state-specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting
