Job Summary
Coordinate the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle and manage operational issues during your shift. Provide clinical care as census demands, communicate patient care and departmental issues to appropriate leaders, and serve as a resource for staff guidance. This role requires RN licensure, BCLS, and specialty certifications such as ACLS and PALS, with additional units-specific credentials like NRP or AWHONN depending on the floor. Schedule is days-only at Piedmont Newton Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery)
- PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery)
- PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
- PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- TNCC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton
- ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Newton
- PALS Certification (required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital)
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
