Job Summary
Coordinate quality nursing care delivery and manage operational issues during the 7am-3pm shift, providing clinical support when census demands arise. Serve as a resource for staff guidance, communicate patient care and departmental concerns to leadership, and collect pertinent data to analyze diagnoses and develop individualized care plans. Implement evidence-based strategies to promote health and safe environments while evaluating progress toward goals. Practice ethically and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to contribute to quality nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery)
- PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery)
- PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
- PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- TNCC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton
- ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Newton
- PALS Certification (required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital)
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
