Job Summary
Coordinate daily patient care on the 38-bed Med-Surgical Urology unit by acting as a resource for standards, policies, and clinical procedures. Identify patient care issues and align assignments with patient needs and team competencies while directing specialty-specific nursing skills and executing physician orders. Participate in unit committees, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based best practices implementation. Support department operations, orient temporary or float staff, and facilitate efficient patient flow. Promote staff development through mentoring, continuing education, and performance feedback. Requires Registered Nurse licensure, minimum 2-3 years clinical experience, and previous charge or lead experience. Full-time day shift with 72 hours bi-weekly, rotating weekends and holidays. Certification within specialty area required within two years.
Required Qualifications
- Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- ECG interpretation competency
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Registered Nurse licensure
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences
- Minimum of 2-3 years Clinical in Nursing experience
- Previous charge or lead experience
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS/PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department
