Job Summary
Charge Nurse to lead/direct licensed and non-professional staff in providing direct resident care in a long-term care setting. Provides nursing care to residents as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards, regulations, and directions from the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions; assigning tasks to staff based on skill level; ensuring patient safety; documenting nursing history; assessing patients and developing care plans; following infection-control policies; maintaining professional relations with patients, families, and healthcare team; utilizing the electronic medical record (PointClickCare); and responding to urgent/emergency situations. Requires current LVN/RN license and CPR certification; English proficiency for verbal/written instructions; ability to work with flexible interruptions and complete assignments timely.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current LVN/RN license
- CPR certification required
- Ability to understand, remember and carry out verbal or written instructions in English
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
