Job Summary
Oversee the inpatient unit for assigned shifts with minimal direction, employing clinical and managerial skills to care for patients while guiding nursing and support staff. Prepare daily staffing assignments, mentor colleagues, evaluate performance, and facilitate patient flow, admissions, and discharges. Assess individual and family needs to identify potential health or safety problems, instruct on disease prevention, and coordinate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans. Monitor vital signs, document symptoms, administer medications, and modify care based on patient responses. Requires an Associate's Degree, 1-3 years of professional nursing experience, and RN licensure. Salary ranges from $39.60 to $63.54 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- 1-3 years Professional nursing experience in a patient care setting
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards
- Ability to assist in identifying ways to promote quality patient-centric care and maintain Denver Health's high level of patient satisfaction
- Ability to work effectively in a team matrix environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and in a cross functional environment
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary staff, charge nurses, clinical nurse educator(s), and Nursing Managers, providers, executive leadership
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of assessment findings as they relate to the disease process and continuum of care
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
