Job Summary
Coordinate the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle and manage operational issues during the night shift. Provide clinical care as census demands arise and communicate patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to appropriate leaders. Serve as a resource for guidance and assistance to the nursing staff. This role supports the multidisciplinary team at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, focusing on evidence-based practice and safe, effective care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery)
- PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery)
- PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
- PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- TNCC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton
- ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Piedmont Newton
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- PALS Certification (required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital)
- PEARS Certification (required at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
- Identifies, reports and provides appropriate protective measures for high risk situations including, but not limited to, abuse or neglect, failure to thrive and potential for abduction
