Job Summary
Provide direct patient care while serving as the clinical leader for the unit, ensuring efficient operations and seamless coordination of patient care. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Manage telemetry monitoring, perform daily crash cart checks, and verify laboratory specimen collection and result communication. Prepare shift assignments, manage staffing needs including call-ins, and conduct comprehensive end-of-shift reports. Perform patient rounds, address patient and family concerns, and participate in Joint Commission readiness activities. Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, therapy teams, pharmacy, and case management. Requires current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications with at least one year of inpatient rehabilitation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire
- Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Previous acute care nursing experience
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards
- Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficient in the use of computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and software applications required to perform job responsibilities effectively
