Job Summary
Provide direct patient care while serving as the unit leader to coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Manage telemetry monitoring, prepare shift assignments, and ensure all ordered laboratory specimens are collected and results communicated to physicians. Conduct Joint Commission readiness audits, oversee interdisciplinary coordination with physicians, respiratory therapy, and physical therapy, and perform or delegate administrative duties including chart thinning and supply restocking. Round on patients to promote quality care, address concerns, and provide end-of-shift reports to the oncoming Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing. Requires current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications within six months, plus one year of inpatient rehabilitation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire
- Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Previous acute care nursing experience
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and compliance guidelines
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and make appropriate decisions when necessary
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications relevant to job responsibilities
