Charge Nurse

Job Summary
Prepare patient care assignments and scheduling based on acuity, then supervise direct patient care staff while performing and delegating admission and ongoing assessments. Lead daily charge nurse rounds, validate prescription orders, and communicate patient condition changes to the care team and physicians. Ensure complete system documentation, verify water testing protocols, and oversee unit opening and closing procedures. Enforce HIPAA compliance, assist with medication ordering, and manage functional programs such as anemia or access management to drive outcomes. Function as alternate clinic manager when needed and participate in QAPI improvement activities. Requires current nursing licensure, BLS certification, and at least two years of hemodialysis experience.
Required Qualifications
- current and valid State professional nursing licensure
- BLS certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma
- at least 2 years of clinical and hemodialysis experience

- outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Intermediate knowledge of clinical systems, computer processing and Microsoft office (email, word, excel, etc)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Travel is minimal in this role
- Travel in this role is less than 20%
