Job Summary

Support, evaluate, and remediate assigned staff while demonstrating fiscal responsibility during each shift. Organize nursing care for patient groups, manage all clinical unit activities, and ensure care aligns with population needs. Consistently evaluate patient progress, conduct chart reviews, monitor quality data, and participate in performance improvement measures. Enforce policies to ensure regulatory compliance and provide prompt service recovery. Functions as a unit Registered Nurse as needed, adhering to the California Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. Requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing, one year of Charge Nurse experience, and active California RN, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) pending employee election.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Recent, appropriate nursing practice within the past two years
  • Minimum one year of directly related Charge Nurse experience in area of specialty or an appropriate equivalent

  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum one year of directly related Charge Nurse experience in area of specialty (two years preferred)
  • Current, nationally recognized specialty certification
  • Examples: Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Cardiac Vascular Nursing (RN-BC), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
