Job Summary
RN Charge Nurse leads the Clinical Decision Unit with clinical leadership and resource coordination on their shift and department. They assess patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust plans of care, delegate and supervise staff, ensure staffing alignment and optimal patient flow, manage resources and budgets, and participate in continuous quality improvement. Requires a Registered Nurse license, BSN within four years of hire, BLS, and unit-specific certifications; leadership and mentoring responsibilities are emphasized along with ensuring adherence to policies, regulatory standards, and professional licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- BSN (Bachelor’s degree in nursing) or equivalent, to be obtained within four years of hire/promotion
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Unit Specific Certification (ACLS, PALS, etc.) as required by role/department
- Experience in assigned clinical area
- Mentoring experience
- Charge Nurse training (required)
