Job Summary
Coordinate unit resources and lead the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, prioritization, and clinical oversight. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions. Manage staffing levels, mediate conflicts, and enforce policies to ensure safety, quality, and compliance. Direct hourly rounds, facilitate bedside reports, and activate rapid response or code alerts as needed. Complete Charge Nurse training and maintain accurate documentation while mentoring staff to uphold professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Unit Specific Certification as required (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Experience in assigned clinical area
- Mentoring experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire or promotion date
