Job Summary
Charge Nurse to support a 3G med/surg unit on the night shift (7pm-7:30am) in Frederick, MD. Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, serves in leadership and teaching capacities, and ensures an effective plan of care with interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, family education, delegation, precepting, and participation in quality improvement while floats to other units as needed. Must be licensed RN in Maryland or a compact state, with an Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) and CPR; BLS within 90 days of hire; unit-specific certifications within 1 year of hire. 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday commitments. Explicit pay range provided: $36.79–$55.17 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of Maryland or compact state
- Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment
- Certified in CPR
- BLS certification required within 90-days of hire
- Unit-specific certifications required within 1 year of hire (e.g., Oncology, Telemetry, L&D, NICU, ICU, Peds, OR, Cath Lab, PACU, ENDO, ED ACLS/PALS etc.)
- Experience performing nursing leadership/teaching duties and applying nursing process
- Ability to perform patient care with adherence to hospital policies and standards
- Credentialing in applicable nursing specialties as listed
- Ability to work night shift (7pm-7:30am) with weekend/holiday commitments
