Job Summary
Provide spiritual, pastoral, and emotional support to residents, families, and staff at Bethesda Aged Care Centre in Rockhampton. Lead chapel services, spiritual/reminiscence groups, and memorial services while offering prayer to help residents find meaning and connection. Act as an integral member of the leadership team, supporting the Centre Manager and contributing to decision-making. Represent the centre at Salvation Army Local leadership gatherings and offer care aligned with the organization's mission. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to the Christian faith, experience in leading chapel services and conducting funerals, and a current driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the Christian faith and The Salvation Army's mission
- The ability to offer prayer and pastoral care with compassion and sensitivity
- Experience in leading chapel services and conducting funerals / memorial services
- A solid understanding of chaplaincy principles and practices, especially in relation to aged care
- A Diploma of Chaplaincy or a willingness to obtain one within two years, funded by The Salvation Army
- A uniformed Salvationist or a committed Christian who is active in their church and has a heart for serving others
- The ability to wear a recognisable Salvation Army uniform and represent The Salvation Army with integrity
- A current driver's license and a reliable registered vehicle
- A letter of reference from your minister/pastor or Officer
- A Working with Children Check
- A National Coordinated Criminal History Check
Desired Qualifications
- A willingness to obtain a Diploma of Chaplaincy within two years, funded by The Salvation Army
