Job Summary

Conduct weekly religious services and provide pastoral counseling, comfort, and mental/emotional support to all Scouting guests. Promote understanding of diverse religious beliefs while facilitating prayer, meditation, and reflection opportunities. Oversee the Duty to God Award program and lead informational meetings for youth. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership and adhere to staff handbook policies. Requires ordination or certification, experience in youth pastoral care, a valid driver's license, and ability to hike and lift up to 15 pounds for up to 8 hours daily. Based at Summit Bechtel Reserve near New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Ordination or certification in a recognized religious denomination
  • Experienced in providing pastoral/spiritual care and counseling (especially to young people)
  • Valid driver license and ability to obtain a Summit Driving permit
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike, up to 8 hours daily
  • Ability to lift/move up to 15 pounds
