Job Summary
Provide direct spiritual care to Evergreen Hospital patients, families, and staff while serving as a core member of the interdisciplinary team involved in patient care planning. Process spiritual assessments and referrals to assign professional staff, clergy, volunteers, and lay pastoral care personnel according to need and expertise. Facilitate access to spiritual care as requested and maintain on-call availability after hours. Requires a Master's degree in Theology or Clinical Pastoral Education, current Washington State driver's license, and willingness to work Saturdays and Sundays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Theology/M.Div, related Master's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
- Current Washington State Driver's License and proof of insurability
- Demonstrated ability to serve spiritual care needs of people without regard to religious affiliation or beliefs
- Demonstrated knowledge and will developed skills in: Counseling and pastoral care and Adherence to professional ethics within an environment of religious plurality
- Demonstrated knowledge and training necessary to care for the specific age group under his/her care
- Willing to work Saturday and/or Sunday as part of regular work week
Desired Qualifications
- Member of a nationally accredited association of spiritual care
- Ordained, commissioned or endorsed in an established faith tradition
- Clinical experience working with diverse spiritual beliefs
