Job Summary
Chaplain provides professional spiritual care to patients in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings as part of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital's healthcare team. Responsible for implementing the Department of Spiritual Health Services' mission, values, policies, and procedures, and for addressing spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of patients and families. Requires advanced theological or religious studies training and board certification readiness, with clinical pastoral education and National Chaplain Certification within three years of hire; role is on-call with a variable schedule. The position emphasizes compassionate care, interprofessional collaboration, and adherence to the organization’s commitment to whole-person care across multiple facilities in the Providence system.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations
- equivalent education/experience
- Four clinical pastoral education units
- Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification
