Job Summary
Chaplain (Part-Time) located in the Van Buren/Ft. Smith, AR area. Serves as a front-line chaplain providing Christian ministry and employee care, visiting company worksites regularly to support employees and their families, offering confidential pastoral discussions, grief support, and assistance with personal life issues. Responsibilities include planning or attending funerals, providing literature and resources, coordinating referrals for specialized assistance, representing company to clients, and participating in new employee orientation. Requires strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills, ability to work in an interfaith setting, and Christian spiritual maturity aligned with Marketplace Chaplains’ ministry values. Must have active driver’s license, be able to navigate diverse work sites (manufacturing, hospitals, offices, funeral homes), and pass a background check. Remote field position with work environment dependent on client worksites; no guaranteed hours, ~10-15 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Active state driver’s license and state minimum auto insurance (state(s) where servicing clients)
- Pass pre-employment background check
- Must be able to work as part of interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting
- Ability to listen and interact with clients, employees, and families; deliver community presentations
- Ability to interact professionally with diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse groups
- Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and to MCHAPs Ministry values
- Biblical literacy and saving faith in Jesus Christ; participates in biblically based church
- Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information to define and follow up on problems or objectives
- Demonstrated skills in interpreting policy and procedures related to the position
- Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, or equivalent software
