Job Summary
Direct and supervise religious programs for inmates/detainees, train lay and clergy volunteers from represented faiths, and provide spiritual guidance and clinical pastoral education. Organize and conduct religious services, sacraments, and educational programs; oversee community volunteers and develop programs for newly arrived inmates. Maintain religious counseling, schedule activities, and manage records while coordinating with faith communities and approving donations for use in religious programs. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and strong organizational and time-management abilities in a high-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meets the certification standards of the American Correctional Chaplains Association
- Must be properly credentialed to conduct religious services according to the teaching of his/her denomination
- Must have current ecclesiastical endorsement by appropriate religious certifying bodies
- Must be an ordained minister
