Job Summary
Chaplain III ministers to patients, families, and staff around religious and spiritual needs in a hospital setting, providing advanced pastoral care and counseling, spiritual assessments, and care planning within an interdisciplinary team. The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field, four+ CPE units, board certification, ecclesial endorsement, and three years of healthcare chaplaincy experience. The position supports diverse faith groups, conducts spiritual care in contexts of illness, crisis, loss, and death, and includes leadership in coordinating prayer and worship services.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field such as Pastoral Studies or Theology (required)
- Four or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) completed (required)
- Board certification by one of these organizations: National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Jewish Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Pastoral Counselors (required)
- Ecclesial endorsement from church body to be involved in hospital ministry (Required)
- Three years of experience as a Chaplain in a healthcare setting (Required)
- ACPE Certified Educator Candidate (CEC) (preferred)
