Job Summary
Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and rituals for hospice patients and families in the PEE DEE area, facilitating meaning-making and addressing existential questions. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care, participate in case conferences, and provide guidance to staff and volunteers. Develop relationships with local clergy, lead community workshops on end-of-life care, and offer bereavement support including memorial services. Requires a Master of Divinity, ordination, and CPE certification; full-time 8-hour schedule with travel and flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution
- Ordination or endorsement from a recognized religious organization
- Experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting, preferably hospice or palliative care
- Knowledge of diverse religious and spiritual traditions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals facing end-of-life challenges
- Sensitivity to cultural and religious differences
- Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, etc
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification preferred
