Job Summary
Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and rituals for hospice patients and families in the Columbia area, facilitating meaning-making and addressing existential concerns. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in case conferences, and provide guidance to staff and volunteers. Develop relationships with local clergy, lead community workshops on end-of-life care, and support bereaved families through memorial services and support groups. Full-time 8-hour role (8:00AM-5:00PM, Mon-Fri) with travel between facilities and offices required.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution
- Ordination or endorsement from a recognized religious organization
- Experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting, preferably hospice or palliative care
- Knowledge of diverse religious and spiritual traditions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals facing end-of-life challenges
- Sensitivity to cultural and religious differences
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to travel between offices, facilities, etc.
- Must be a licensed driver
- Must have an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements
- Must have an automobile that is in good working order
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification
