Job Summary
Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and rituals for palliative and hospice patients and families across the PEE DEE area, including homes and assisted living facilities. Facilitate meaning-making conversations, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care plans, and provide support to hospice staff and volunteers. Deliver bereavement services to grieving families, assist with memorial planning, and lead community workshops on end-of-life care. Represent the organization at local events while maintaining relationships with faith communities. Requires full-time 8-hour scheduling Monday through Friday, with a Master of Divinity degree, ordination, and experience in healthcare spiritual care.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution
- Ordination or endorsement from a recognized religious organization
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to travel between offices, facilities, etc.
- Must be a licensed driver
- Must have an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification
- Experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting
- Experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting, preferably hospice or palliative care
- Knowledge of diverse religious and spiritual traditions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals facing end-of-life challenges
- Sensitivity to cultural and religious differences
