Chaplain - Hospice

Job Summary

Conduct spiritual assessments and provide counseling to palliative and hospice patients and families in the PEE DEE area, facilitating meaning-making and offering rituals for diverse faith backgrounds. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and community clergy to address holistic needs, while assisting with bereavement support and memorial services. Deliver presentations on end-of-life care and represent the organization at community events. Requires a Master of Divinity or equivalent, ordination, and experience in healthcare spiritual care. Full-time 8-hour schedule Monday through Friday with a vehicle allowance and competitive compensation including employer-matched 401K and HSA.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution
  • Ordination or endorsement from a recognized religious organization
  • Experience in providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting, preferably hospice or palliative care
  • Knowledge of diverse religious and spiritual traditions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals facing end-of-life challenges
  • Sensitivity to cultural and religious differences
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, etc
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order

Desired Qualifications

  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification preferred
