Job Summary
Chaplain Home Care role within an interdisciplinary team, focusing on spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers and staff. Provides pastoral care interventions and counseling based on spiritual assessment, setting, and diverse beliefs. Requires ordination/commission with endorsement and good standing; 5 years pastoral experience preferred (2+ in clinical settings); Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units (1 minimum, preferably 2+); equivalencies including CPE-based experiences or related certifications or a DMin/graduate degree in pastoral care. Must demonstrate capability to engage in spiritual dynamics of illness, loss, and death and function as a collaborative team member with ongoing professional development. Bachelor’s degree and Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary/theological school required. EOe/AA M/F/D/V.
Required Qualifications
- Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care
- Endorsement of and in good standing with his/her faith body
- Minimum 1 unit (400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by ACP/E or NAC Chaplains/CAA or CAMH
- Equivalencies to CPE may include supervision of ministry, peer group participation and theological reflection; AAMFT, AAPC, or AMHC certification; or DMin or other accredited graduate degree in pastoral care
- Knowledge and skill in dealing with spiritual dynamics of illness, loss and death
- Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
