Job Summary
Provide spiritual care to patients, families, visitors, and staff through bedside visits, outpatient settings, and 1:1 encounters. Lead hospital-wide and community faith-specific services, participate in team meetings, and administer religious rites or ordinances. Respond to requests for assistance during emergencies or crises, including home visits and prison outreach. Counsel individuals on spiritual, emotional, or personal needs while documenting encounters in electronic medical records. Requires 24-hour rotating schedule with overnight on-call and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study
- Four or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited training program
- 2-3 years Experience in a hospital/healthcare setting or relevant spiritual, ministry, pastoral, congregational or other experience
- Knowledge of various religious practices
- Knowledge of health care ethics
- Knowledge of behavioral health
- Knowledge of trauma informed care
- Knowledge of crisis response
- Knowledge of grief and bereavement counseling techniques
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient at documenting encounters in a patient's electronic medical records
- Proficient at multitasking
- High level of problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Availability for Overnight On-Call and Weekend Shifts

Desired Qualifications
- Graduate Diploma Related Field of Study
- Preference for candidates who are board certified chaplains with APC, NAJC, or NACC
