Job Summary
Provide religious and spiritual care and counsel to patients, families, and associates regarding emotional and spiritual distress, attending to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures. Deliver pastoral care to the local ministry and community by performing sacraments, rituals, blessings, and liturgies. Collaborate with the clinical team to support holistic patient care and build relationships through regular visitations and communication. Mentor Clinical Pastoral Education students and fellows. This full-time day shift role at Via Christi Village Mclean supports Ascension's mission of reimagining healthcare through service and connection.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certification from the APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or job transfer (or obtained within two years of hire or job transfer; risking termination if not obtained within timeframe)
- For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer, ecclesiastical endorsement
- Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school
- 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain
