Job Summary
Provide skilled piano accompaniment for the weekly 9:30 AM Catholic Sunday Mass and coordinate weekly choir rehearsals. Select appropriate liturgical music in consultation with the Catholic priest, preparing and submitting monthly selection proposals. Direct and support the choir during services, providing vocal leadership and singing support as needed. Recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists to maintain an active, reliable choir while managing microphone placement and lyric presentation slides. Offer musical support for special services including Holy Days, seasonal observances, reconciliation services, and Confirmation. Maintain dependable attendance and professional communication with clergy, chapel staff, and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in piano performance
- Ability to read and perform traditional, contemporary, and other appropriate worship music
- Familiarity with current Catholic liturgical traditions, practices, and seasonal observances
- Strong ability to play piano, direct a choir, and sing
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful U.S. permanent resident with a valid Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)
- Must be able to successfully complete applicable background screening and obtain required DBIDS/base-access credentials
- Must comply with installation access, security, conduct, and training requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting or leading worship services is preferred
- A degree in music is not required. Experience leading or supporting worship services is preferred
