Job Summary
Change Order Management Specialist responsible for tracking, documenting, and supporting the preparation and submission of change orders on construction projects. Works with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure changes are identified, priced, documented, submitted, and tracked through approval and billing. Maintains change order logs, coordinates documentation (RFIs, field reports, drawings, schedules, directives, photos, quotes, invoices, correspondence), assists in preparing change order requests and cost proposals, and supports timely submission and recovery of legitimate project costs. Requires strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procore; ability to read construction documents and contracts; and willingness to travel to job sites as needed. Preferred qualifications include degrees in Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related fields, and experience with public works or government-funded projects; familiarity with Sage and construction management software; and knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll, RFIs, submittals, and closeout processes. Core competencies include attention to detail, cost-data analysis, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Work environment is primarily office-based with occasional site visits and travel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of experience in construction administration, project coordination, estimating support, project accounting, or a related role
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procore
- Ability to read and understand construction documents, contracts, and project correspondence
