Job Summary
Stage Manager for Willy Wonka Jr. will serve as the central communication hub among the director, cast, crew, and production team, responsible for creating and maintaining rehearsal schedules and production timelines, coordinating volunteer coverage for set creation and performance day roles, managing rehearsal materials (scripts, props, set pieces), and maintaining materials in the shared drive. Duties include calling cues during performances, ensuring smooth backstage operations, assisting with tech rehearsals and performances, and collaborating with theatre staff to coordinate across the production. At-will position with listed rehearsal and performance dates, requiring strong organization, leadership, and communication, and experience working with children. CPR/First Aid is a plus. The role emphasizes delivering an engaging theatrical experience for youth while ensuring operational success and timely execution of production tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in stage management, preferably in a theatre setting
- General knowledge of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, and set design
- Some college coursework and/or other related training and/or experience is preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills with effective communication and customer service skills
- Previous experience interacting with children is required
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but will be provided if needed
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
