Job Summary
Sit chairside to relax patients and hand dentists proper equipment during appointments. Sterilize instruments, prepare materials and cements, process radiographs, pour cast molds, and take impressions for study models. Maintain a surgically clean environment to prevent infection spread while ensuring OSHA and HIPAA compliance. Monitor and order dental supply budgets, update client records, and coordinate equipment repairs. Provide oral care instructions, teach hygiene strategies, and track lab cases. Ask about medical history and take blood pressure and pulse as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current dental assistant license, registration, or permit as required by applicable state regulations
- Current CPR certification
- Radiography/X-ray certification if applicable to job duties and state regulations
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant
