Job Summary
Develop and execute strategy for commercial and government payment models exceeding $20 billion in annual revenue, overseeing actuarial services, performance analytics, and contract negotiations. Lead ideation for innovative payment and delivery models, design financial frameworks, and monitor market intelligence to mitigate exposures and optimize reimbursement approaches. Coordinate resources across domestic and international markets, manage change management for new workflows, and mentor a team of finance leaders while representing the department on institutional committees and with external groups. Establish performance metrics and ensure operational capabilities support future growth. Hybrid role requiring on-site presence at Mayo Clinic campuses in Jacksonville, Phoenix, or Rochester.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading a team responsible for a portfolio of commercial and government payment revenue exceeding $20 billion on an annual basis

- Experience with the chargemaster
- Experience in strategy development on core payment and reimbursement models

- Experience with negotiating strategies and tactics
- Experience with day-to-day operations that support new care models
- Experience using data and analytics to monitor and identify opportunities and exposures in both government and commercial segments
- Experience leveraging pricing information available for healthcare providers for market intelligence and positioning
- Experience designing and implementing reimbursement and contract approaches
- Experience with processes, workflows, training and change management
- Experience establishing and achieving performance metric targets
- Experience with commercial contracting in domestic and international markets
- Experience with direct-to-employer contracting
- Experience with risk-based program design and analytics
- Experience with Medicare strategy
- Experience representing a department and participating in institutional committees and taskforces
- Experience engaging with external groups to ensure awareness of market disruptors and innovations in payment and delivery models
- Experience coordinating resources (projects, people, facilities, money and equipment) in an effective and efficient manner
- Experience leading, coaching and mentoring a staff of leaders
- Must be located within 100 miles of one of the following Mayo Clinic campuses: Jacksonville, FL; Phoenix, AZ; or Rochester, MN
- Expectation to work on-site based on business needs
