Job Summary
Define and operationalize the Surgical Specialties service line strategy, including ambulatory and inpatient settings, while establishing segmentation for elective versus urgent care. Set clinical expectations for staffing models, block utilization, and perioperative workflows to optimize OR and ASC capacity. Champion quality improvement initiatives, standardize perioperative pathways, and partner with anesthesia leadership to align throughput and reduce variation. Lead physician recruitment, retention, and succession planning, delivering performance feedback and managing complex practice pattern escalations. Drive value-based care strategies, aligning physician incentives with financial targets and bundled payment models. Partner with the administrative dyad leader to oversee productivity, review performance dashboards, and support sustainable operating models across hospital and ambulatory sites.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in a surgical specialty
- Significant clinical experience in surgical practice
- Demonstrated senior physician leadership experience
- Experience with perioperative operations, quality improvement, and service line performance
- Familiarity with value‐based care, bundled payments, and utilization management
- Experience working in dyad leadership models
- Strong strategic, communication, and change management skills
