Job Summary
Chair, Department of Orthopedics leads the Musculoskeletal Service Line across CH’s six hospitals and ambulatory sites, shaping clinical operations, education, research, and program development. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, recruitment and talent development, collaboration with CH leadership and physicians, advancing clinical protocols, quality improvement, and expanding the academic and research profile of the department. The Chair will oversee budget and resource allocation, drive cross-continuum care, and partner with executive leadership to realize CH’s mission of high-quality orthopedics care and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD/DO) and board certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in a medical or academic health system
- Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites
- Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic planning skills
- Experience with recruitment, program development, and research initiatives
- Familiarity with clinical governance, quality improvement, and COE development
- Ability to manage budgets and resources for a major medical service line
- Academic appointment could be a plus
