Job Summary
Lead a project shaped by your interests and perspectives, contributing directly to CGRS's mission through research, advocacy, educational resources, storytelling initiatives, or community engagement. Participate in team meetings and initiatives aligned with your focus areas, including refugee and immigrant rights, gender-based violence protections, climate-induced displacement, and pro se support. Collaborate with staff and peer mentors to coordinate professional development opportunities such as networking events, guest speakers, and workshops. Commit 20 hours per month (5 hours/week) with flexibility to work on projects outside of meetings during West Coast business hours. The fellowship runs from October 2026 to mid-June 2027 with a $6,000 stipend plus $500 for professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Personally experienced forced displacement across borders
- Currently live in the United States
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Comfortable working in English to ensure effective collaboration and communication, including reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Availability of 20 hours per month
- Flexibility to attend various meetings during West Coast business hours (approximately 6 hours out of total 20)

- Demonstrated experience with or commitment to at least one of CGRS's core focus areas: Legal protections for survivors of gender-based violence
- Demonstrated experience with or commitment to at least one of CGRS's core focus areas: Advocacy related to climate-induced displacement
- Demonstrated experience with or commitment to at least one of CGRS's core focus areas: Pro se support
- Other related experiences and interests that align with CGRS' mission to defend the human rights of people seeking safety in the United States
