Job Summary
CFO role leading finance and accounting operations for a privately owned apparel wholesaler/retailer with coordinated financial responsibility across U.S. sites (Sales/Design in NY, Warehouse/Distribution in CA, nationwide retail) and collaboration with China-based manufacturing affiliate; oversee accounting, internal controls, budgeting, financial reporting, and consolidation, drive strategic financial planning and profitability, partner with CEO and executive team, and communicate with financial partners and major retailers. Requires high ambition, low ego, experience in GAAP, SAP S4 Hana, and leadership of a growing finance organization; onsite at headquarters in New York, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- MBA preferred
- Certified Public Accountant qualification is a plus
- 12+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting/analysis/management and budgeting
- Experience supervising accounting staff
- Deep understanding of GAAP and current/new standards
- Experience owning a company's general ledger and producing timely financial reporting
- Experience with SAP S4 Hana
- Mandarin language skills and familiarity with China based businesses are preferred
- Experience in fashion/apparel industry is preferred
- Strong communication skills and professional maturity
- Proven project management and leadership capabilities
- Desire for significant responsibility to help shape a new accounting and finance team
- Interest in joining a well-capitalized entrepreneurial team
