Job Summary
This highly visible advisory role provides strategic financial leadership and accounting expertise to credit union and banking clients. Responsibilities include preparing and examining accounting records and financial statements, developing and implementing accounting policies, ensuring regulatory and GAAP compliance, managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and forecast reports aligned with client timing. Performs general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and monthly financial statements; conducts budget variance analyses; conducts special studies and projects; manages calendars for client satisfaction; tracks hours for billing and profitability modeling. Requires B.A. in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent with 5+ years in financial institutions or equivalent, strong MS Excel skills, and excellent analytical, communication, and detail-oriented abilities. CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent
- five years’ related accounting/finance experience
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient with MS products. Expert-level Excel.
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required
- Thoroughness, excellent attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills are required
- Ability to work independently and initiate several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
