Job Summary
Coordinate closely with design teams and clients to refine simulation objectives, define prerequisites, and establish accurate initial conditions for data center and building simulations. Conduct technical discussions to present simulation findings, interpret results, and provide insights for CFD analyses while performing rigorous validation to ensure accuracy and real-world fidelity. Manage the entire CFD analysis documentation process from initiation through validation using tools like Reality DC Design, Star CCM+, or equivalent software. Prepare project progress reports, maintain shop drawings and RFI logs, and manage personal hours. Work independently with moderate supervision to produce construction documents, develop specifications, and assist in construction administration, leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering
- Three to five years' experience in a consultancy setting
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics principles including boundary layers, laminar flows, and basic heat transfer
- Knowledge of core numerical methods in CFD like finite volume and element methods
- Knowledge of primary turbulence models and their applications
- Skilled in using CFD software for simulations and reviewing drawings with AutoCAD/Revit
- Skilled in using CFD data center specific software tools, especially Reality DC Design by Cadence or its equivalent
- Skilled in using general CFD software like Star CCM+ for steady-state and transient simulations
- Skilled in 3D modeling and cleaning and preparing complex CAD for CFD modeling
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
- Ability to interpret CFD results and communicate well in writing and verbally
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Approximately 10% travel to any or all 50 US states
Desired Qualifications
- Skilled in JAVA or Python scripting and comfortable with Linux and HPC systems preferred
