Certifying Scientist, Split Shift (10:30AM-7:00PM)

Job Summary
The Certifying Scientist will quantitativelyAnalyze MS data and perform final review of patient reports for urine and oral fluid testing, coordinate with clients to resolve report issues, participate in validation and proficiency testing, method development, and ensure adherence to regulatory and quality control standards. Responsibilities include final review and certification of reports, data transcription, demographic verification, medication vs. non-prescribed/illicit substance checks, adding comments, documentation, cross-department collaboration, handling report inquiries from customers, rerun requests, calibration and QC data review, data analysis with mass spectrometry software, reinforcement of proper retention time/ion qualification, reinjections/re-extractions per protocol, LIS data transmission, proficiency testing, daily control monitoring, and overall compliance with quality controls. Requires Master’s or BS with related experience, LC-MS/MS proficiency, and strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment and wear PPE as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Life Science, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biology, Physics, or similar analytical science field or Bachelor of Science in similar field with 1 year of related experience
- Familiarity with LC-MS/MS instruments (preferred)
- Familiarity with Agilent MS and LC systems – MassHunter Acquisition and Quantitation (preferred)
- Previous work with bodily fluids (urine and oral fluid) preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Coordinate laboratory functions and represent the toxicology laboratory professionally
- Excellent time management, documentation, and organizational skills

- Wear PPE when required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Regular and prompt attendance

- Knowledge of data analysis using mass spectrometry software
