Job Summary
As a Certified Youth Peer Supporter, provide peer-based support and encouragement to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities include regular client meetings, crisis stabilization support, educating clients on available resources, promoting client empowerment, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with community partners. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, certification in Youth Peer Support, and lived experience with behavioral health issues. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, along with effective computer literacy.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification in Youth Peer Support
- Must be part of Greater Cleveland Works training cohort
- Lived experience with behavioral health challenges (mental health/substance use disorder)
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of community, county, and court resources
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Requirements
- Youth Peer Supporters require individuals to be between the ages of 18 - 30 to adhere to program criteria
