Job Summary
Perform X-Ray imaging by operating X-Ray equipment to capture images of patients’ internal structures as directed by physicians. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing questions. Properly position patients to obtain high-quality images while minimizing discomfort and radiation exposure. Regularly check and maintain X-Ray equipment for safe operation. Review images for clarity and diagnostic quality before sending to physicians. Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures. Implement safety measures to limit radiation exposure, including PPE and lead shields when necessary. Interpret the order to determine body parts to be evaluated. Inventory and stock radiologic supplies. Assist in rooming/check-in processes and provide patient support as needed. Education prerequisites include an associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field, ARRT and JRCERT/JRCERT certifications, Illinois state licensure, and IEMA license. Experience requirement: 1–2 years in a clinical X-Ray/Radiology setting. Ability to lift 40–75 lbs and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least an associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or a related field
- Must be certified by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- Must be certified from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and have the appropriate State of Illinois license
- Must have an IEMA license
- Must have previous experience in a clinical setting of at least 1 to 2 years of X-Ray or Radiology technician
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be technically proficient with a strong understanding of radiographic equipment and imaging techniques
- Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 40-75 lbs
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
