Certified Welding Inspector

Job Summary
Perform visual welding inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API codes, or project-specific criteria; review welding procedures (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualification test records (WQTR); monitor welding activities for adherence to approved procedures, standards, and client specifications; coordinate with NDT personnel to support additional testing requirements (UT, RT, MT, PT, etc.); generate detailed inspection reports, weld maps, and deficiency logs; witness welder qualification tests and maintain welder continuity logs; interface with client QA/QC personnel, fabricators, and engineers to resolve welding or quality-related issues; adhere to Life Critical Expectations and site safety protocols; uphold industry codes and TEAM’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and quality
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening background check
- Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials
- Active AWS CWI certification
- Familiarity with code books and standards: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, B31.3, API 1104, and others relevant to scope
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel, work extended hours, and operate in field environments including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and extreme weather
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset
