Job Summary
Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, testing, and evaluation activities to assure the quality of structural steel during erection on building and pipeline sites. Perform visual inspections for defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut on both in-progress and completed work. Measure product dimensions using calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify conformance to specifications. Document all quality assurance data and communicate significant issues with recommendations for process improvements. Requires AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, D1.1 Structural Steel and Level II Ultrasonics experience, and ability to read blueprints. Valid driver's license and off-shift schedule flexibility are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work off-shift schedules and overtime as needed
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
- D1.1 Structural Steel and Level II Ultrasonics experience
- Ability to read blueprints and understand and interpret tolerances
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree in Welding Technology or related field
- Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience
