Job Summary
Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines while testing and inspecting structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites. Perform visual inspections on welded products, identifying defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut, then record test results and issue non-conformances until close-out. Measure dimensions using calipers and gauges to verify conformance with specifications and calculate mathematical test results. Review welded components to determine acceptance or rejection and communicate significant issues with recommended process improvements to management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to read blueprints and understand, and interpret tolerances
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
- Must be able to work well independently and with others
- Must be able to periodically work off shifts and overtime
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record

- Technical Degree in Welding
- Construction materials testing experience
