Job Summary
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician responsible for performing bolted and welded structural reviews, NDT of welds and structural members, field witnessing, sample collection, and laboratory testing across building, fabrication shop, and bridge projects. Tasks include UT/MT/PT NDT methods, assessing highway structures, and supporting other service reviews. Frequent travel to sites within the state with potential occasional travel to other states; requires safety-conscious, detail-oriented inspection, documentation, and client communication. Must maintain AWS CWI certification and relevant ASNT Level II qualifications, work with QA/QC processes, and operate with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- A current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) related NDT experience with one or more current ASNT SNT-TC-1A, Level II certification for UT, MT, and/or PT; or relevant NDT training that would qualify for pursuing examination and certification in these methods
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient with commonly used computer programs and phone apps (e.g. Microsoft Word/Excel, PDFs, email, web browsers, maps)
- Ability to travel to sites throughout the state and occasionally to other states
- Comfort working in varied field conditions (weather, heights, confined spaces)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ethical conduct and safety adherence
